I do this once a year. The pitch is simple: I spend three weeks on the phone with the eleven inventory systems my readers actually use, I pretend to be a 2-unit operator looking to switch, and I write down what each one does and does not do.
I do not take affiliate fees from any of these vendors. I have, twice, been offered them. I declined for the same reason your accountant declines them: the moment a recommendation has a kickback attached to it, the recommendation is worthless.
